Dov Ben-Shimon is Executive Vice President/CEO of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ.
Prior to joining Federation in September 2014, he was assistant executive vice president and director of board development of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). In 2009, he was appointed executive director of strategic partnerships for JDC. In that capacity, Dov served as a resource to American Jewish leaders on global Jewish needs and JDC’s programs and priorities. Previously, Dov was major gifts officer at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, director of resources for the Israeli Reform Movement in Jerusalem, chargé d’affaires (deputy ambassador) at the Israeli Embassy in Luanda, Angola, and assistant spokesman to Foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Born in England, Dov moved to Israel at the age of 18. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in international relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was an Air Force rescue medic and Infantry combat medic in the Israel Defense Forces, and saw active duty in both the Gaza and Lebanon fronts, with the rank of staff sergeant. |
