Dov Ben-Shimon is the Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, the largest Jewish nonprofit in New Jersey.
Prior to joining Federation in September 2014, he served as Assistant Executive Vice President and Director of Strategic Partnerships at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). Previously, Dov was Major Gifts Officer at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Director of Resources for the Israeli Reform Movement in Jerusalem, Chargé d’Affaires (Deputy Ambassador) at the Israeli Embassy in Luanda, Angola, and assistant spokesman to Foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Born in England, Dov moved to Israel at the age of 18. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in International Relations from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He served as an Air Force rescue medic and Infantry combat medic in the Israel Defense Forces, and saw active duty in both the Gaza and Lebanon fronts, with the rank of staff sergeant. |
